Power of Thanksgiving

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,

for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 107:1 ESV

My heart swells with gratefulness as we focus on this season of thanksgiving.

I thank my Creator and Father for the opportunity to write. For years I fought against His design for my life when it came to writing. He stayed with me and pursued me when I gave up and wanted to quit.

This Thanksgiving I want to thank the readers who stayed with  me in this journey. I want to encourage you to never give up on  your dream, whatever it is burning within your heart. Our Father wrote a unique design into your destiny and He wants to unlock that plan.

One of the ways to unlock the freedom to be, who He created us to be, is to be thankful, even for what may appear to be evil or hurtful. He knew before we were born what we would face and already has made something beautiful out of it.

I recently saw a youtube video about the power of our thoughts and words. In this video the Japanese scientist showed how positive words, like thank you and love as opposed to negative words, like I hate you and you fool, affected water crystals and rice in jars of water. The water crystals exposed to the words like thank you formed beautiful designs. The rice in water exposed to the same words flourished and was still good to eat. The water crystals exposed to negative words formed ugly designs and the rice in water rotted.

Over and over in scriptures our Father tells us to be thankful. Our bodies are made up of at least 70 percent water. The atmosphere around us is made of part water. Think how much beauty we create when we thank our Father for everything. It takes away the power of the enemy to destroy and ruin our lives and bring God’s Kingdom designs into our realm.

I struggled recently with fiery trials. No need to reiterate them to you. I admit I had my tearful moments, but when I refocused my thoughts on my Father and His love and started being thankful, everything changed, especially the return of joy and peace in my thoughts, which affected those around me.
